At Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vazhuthacaud, a remarkable new addition has been introduced to enhance the visitor experience: Samartha, an advanced receptionist robot. This innovative creation, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), has been meticulously crafted by the school's talented AI lab students over a focused span of three months. Samartha is designed to warmly welcome visitors, guiding them through the school premises with ease. It assists parents by managing appointment schedules for those seeking admission for their children, and it provides a platform for recording any complaints that may arise. Beyond its logistical functions, Samartha goes a step further by interacting with students, offering them valuable mental and emotional support when needed.Upon meeting new individuals, Samartha introduces itself and diligently remembers names and personal details, allowing it to recognize them in future encounters. This personal touch fosters a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, it boasts an impressive range of features including class monitoring, activity recognition, incident prevention, face recognition, and emotion detection, ensuring a comprehensive engagement with the school community. The development of Samartha was guided by the expertise of Sam S. Sivan, the managing director of Techosa Robotics Research and Development, who oversees the school's robotics and AI initiatives. With Samartha, Chinmaya Vidyalaya embraces the future, merging technology with education to create a supportive and engaging environment for all.
